Unable to render more than one snapshot at a time and not all surfaces rendering

Hi,

I've been at my wits end over the past couple of days; I have a big presentation tomorrow and after spending all of last week producing a number of Sketchup designs for my client I had hoped to render them over the weekend, however I've come across two problems:

Renditioner will not render more than one snapshot at a time - for example I attempted to send 6 snapshot images to file the night before last, however, after 7 hours, only 1 image had rendered with the second being 60% of the way through rendering.  This problem wasn't occurring earlier in the week when I successfully rendered 8 images over night, taking an hour and a quarter each (medium sized resolution, medium quality).  (Unfortunately I lost all of these images when I deleted the snapshots from the Renditioner file - I had no idea that I needed to copy them into another folder to save them, I presumed that as they had saved as jpgs in my folder they were safe - I actually cried!)

My second problem is that not all of my surfaces are rendering.  For example one window will show reflection, but not the other 3.  I changed render quality to high to see if the problem would resolve itself, but to no avail.

I've yet to upgrade my Sketchup and Renditioner to 2013, so I'm going to get that done now and see if I have any more luck.

I dare say you want to know what sort of computer I'm working on, how much RAM etc - I'm afraid my computer literacy is shockingly bad and I have no idea, all I know is that I'm running Windows on a MacBook (my husband divided the hard drive or something).

Anyway, over to you, just on the off chance that you have some advice that may help.

Thanks, Kathryn

Well first off, you will be better off with a compatible version of renditioner, if you have sketchup v8 somewhere it would be of use to see what you get with that.  That is the best I can do so far, sorry.

The one snapshot at a time thing will most likely be down to ram, partitioning the drive is not going to have any effect other than virtual memory and even then it will be minimal.

Something else to check, the number of components and groups, as ever, renditioner will explode any of these and increase the model size on import.

Perhaps your computer went into power saving or sleep mode because the mouse cursor did not move on the screen, that will interrupt things.
A screen saver will also cause strange behavior, I think. Just a thought. Maybe when you woke it up the next morning it began again where it left off the night before.

Thanks for your replies!  I updated SketchUp and reinstalled Renditioner - problems all solved!
